Outdoor Education Outdoor Education is an opportunity to take learning out of the classroom and into the great outdoors. Our goals in Outdoor Education include; increasing personal confidence, increasing mutual group support, developing and increasing agility and physical coordination and much more. Come explore the great outdoors, try team building games and activities, enjoy recreation on our fields and courts, hike one of our wooded trails, explore the shores of Lake Erie or just enjoy your time in a beautiful outdoor setting. Fitness Trail Whether you are new to getting fit or want to continue with your workouts Pioneer offers a new 20 station fit trail. Specially designed for all ages and skill levels, you set your pace and take a vacation from the gym or try a new way to workout while enjoying the beautiful open spaces and scenery. Athletic Field The large Pioneer athletic field has a softball diamond and serves as a field for games such as soccer and Eagle's Nest. The field also serves as a place to do archery and is home to Camp Pioneer's incredibly fun Mud Pit. For those who may wish to just be a spectator, the field also has two sets of bleachers. Court Games Pioneer has a significant variety of game courts. There are two shuffleboard courts, two lighted tennis courts, and a movable basketball stand which can be used on the tennis courts. Waterfront Pioneer has a waterfront spanning a quarter of a mile. The beach provides many recreational activities. Pioneer has paddle boats, canoes, and sailboats. Lake Erie, being the quickest great lake to warm, is a terrific place to swim. The entire waterfront is supervised by sufficiently trained and certified lifeguards. Lake Shore Deck This beautiful wooden deck overlooks the lake shore. It has multiple benches and tables to sit at during the day, and in the morning and mid day, has ample shade. In the evening this deck becomes a great place for watching the amazing Pioneer sunsets, then for stargazing at night.
